Please use this form to sign up to lead a Spring 2025 GLEA Club.
Milton Foundation for Education (MFE)
MFE’s competitive grants are designed to encourage and reward effective, innovative teaching. The proposed projects are expected to show direct benefit to students and impact classroom teaching. The Fall 2024 grant application deadline is October 24, 2024 at 10 PM EST.
Outdoor Classroom Lesson Sign Up
The Outdoor Classroom (OC) volunteer-run lessons will run from September through June and are entirely voluntary and can be adapted to align with your classroom curriculum. If you do not want to participate in all ten lessons, feel free to pick and choose. Our main goal is to bring learning outside and make it a hands-on, directly relevant experience for the children, and Ellie Fisher is happy to work with your class's particular needs to make this happen!
Glover Outdoor Feedback Survey
Please fill out the Glover Ground's survey to give the PTO feedback on the Glover Grounds, including the Outdoor Classroom. The answers will help inform decisions regarding OC curriculum and changes that may (and will not) be made to both the exterior school space and the Outdoor Classroom.
Bird Feeders on Classroom Windows
The PTO purchased window-mounted bird feeders for classrooms with windows on the OC. If you have a classroom with an exterior window and would also like a window-mounted bird feeder, please email the Glover PTO to request one: GloverPTO@gmail.com. The PTO has also purchased bird feed that you can use to fill your own bird feeders! It is in the shed in the corner of the OC in a large tupperware container.
Author Erin Entrada Kelly Visit
Erin Entrada Kelly will visit all four Milton elementary schools from December 9-11.
To prepare for her visit, the Glover PTO is encouraging each class to read one of her books. The PTO has purchased Felix Powell, Boy Dog for grades K-2 and Hello, Universe for grades 3-5. If you would like a copy of Hello, Universe in French, please let Ellie know at gloverpto@gmail.com (please note it will not arrive until mid-October).
The UNITY Project is a parent-led initiative endorsed by each school's PTO, encouraging families to engage in school activities with their children, providing new perspectives (windows), opportunities for reflection (mirrors), and pathways to action (sliding glass doors). The goal is to create student belonging in a community that celebrates all of Milton’s families.
