SNAP Updates: Resources for Assistance; How to Help
Beginning on November 1, 2025, it is expected that the Federal Government will cease funding SNAP Benefits unless a federal funding deal is reached. According to the Department of Transitional Assistance, approximately 1,600 residents/families in Milton receive SNAP Benefits.
Please see below information on resources in Milton and ways residents can provide support and assistance.
Milton Community Food Pantry
The Milton Community Food Pantry is open twice per month with upcoming open dates on November 8, November 22, December 6, and December 20. Additional information is available on their website: https://www.miltonfoodpantryma.org/
The Food Pantry makes available shelf stable food as well as frozen proteins, fresh produce (once per month) and household items (once per month). The Food Pantry also offers grocery store gift cards and other assistance during the holiday season.
How to assist: The Food Pantry is not accepting food or household item donations at this time, but the Food Pantry appreciates financial support through online donations or by mailing a check. Click here to donate: https://www.miltonfoodpantryma.org/donate
Milton Residents Fund
The Milton Residents Fund (MRF) is available to provide financial assistance to Milton residents to promote safe and stable housing with funds to prevent utility shutoffs, eviction from rental housing, and the purchase of winter heating oil. MRF also assists with funds for small medical needs, car repairs to ensure a functioning vehicle for employment, and as funds allows assists with payments for professional certification or courses to increase earning potential. How to assist: The Milton Residents Fund gratefully accepts financial contributions to support our neighbors in need by mailing a check to Milton Residents Fund, 535 Canton Ave Milton MA or emailing MiltonResidentsFund@gmail.com for a personalized electronic donation link. Gifts cards in any amount for groceries or personal items are also welcomed to distribute for the holidays or as needed throughout the year.
Milton Health Department’s Food for Milton Residents Program
The Milton Health Department has emergency non-perishable food bags available for any Milton resident in need. Each bag contains basic food staples—such as canned goods, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and other shelf-stable items—to help ensure that residents have access to meals during emergencies or unexpected situations. Please feel free to pick up a bag at the Milton Public Library or the Milton Health Department.
