Get Involved with the PTO

The PTO is a big part of what makes Glover such a special place, and we’d love for you to join us THIS YEAR OR NEXT YEAR (yes, planning for next year is already underway)!  Volunteering is a fun way to connect with other families, support our teachers, and make a difference in our kids’ school experience.  Whether you have a little time or a lot, there’s a place for you.  Please email us at gloverpto@gmail.com if you are interested in getting more involved.

If you are interested in taking on a bigger role in on the PTO, we’re looking for people for the following positions and projects: 

On the PTO Executive Board:

  • Co-President of PTO, two-year term (starting September 2026)

  • Vice President (available now)

  • Recording Secretary (starting September 2026): responsible for taking notes during PTO meetings

Take a Leadership Role, like Chair or Captain:

  • Glover Fair Chair/Co-Chair (taking place on Saturday, September 19 - planning starting now): Oversees all aspects of the fair and manages captains

  • Glover Fair Captain: Plans one aspect of the fair, such as food vendors, bouncy houses/entertainment, music, tie-dye, etc.

  • Math Monday Chairs (starting September 2026)

  • STEM Workshop and Science Fair Chair (starting September 2026)

  • The UNITY Project Captain (ongoing): Help organize material in advance of lessons and maintain organization in The UNITY Project closet

  • Lantern Walk Chair (takes place in October) - CONFIRM WITH BECKY BEFORE ADVERTISING

  • Welcome Basket Captain (starting August 2026): Assemble welcome baskets to new Glover families

  • Room Reps and Grade Captains (starting September 2026)

  • MLK Day of Service Chair: Organize Day of Service project for Glover students

  • Grant Coordinator: Help find grants for Glover and adhere to their submission deadlines

Join a Committee: 

  • Glover Gear (ongoing): Help inventory gear, set-up pop-up sales, get quotes for new gear, etc.

  • Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week (May 4 - 8)

  • Glover Fair (taking place on Saturday, September 19)

  • Math Mondays (ongoing)

  • Book Swap (ongoing)

  • Welcome Committee: Welcome new Glover families and help assemble and distribute welcome baskets to new Glover families

  • Annual Appeals

  • Outdoor Classroom (going): Help keep the Outdoor Classroom maintained and/or carry out lessons

  • Friday Gatherings: An idea we’re exploring for next year to offer regular gatherings for Glover families that are engaging and fun; think a night once a month when families can gather for dinner and games, movies, trivia, talent shows, etc.
