📚March 5 - 19: Glover School Read-a-thon!📚

We are so excited to announce the 2025 Glover School Read-a-thon, our biggest fundraiser of the year! We're challenging our school community to read 500,000 minutes and raise $50,000 from March 5 - 19. The more you and your student read and raise, the closer we'll get to our goal!

Every dollar raised helps us fund exciting add ons to the Glover School and community - such as community gatherings, interactive assemblies, meet the author engagements, buses for field trips, staff appreciation, grounds improvements, curriculum enhancements and much more.

Participating is simple. When you and your student log into Beanstack through the app or website, you'll be able to see and share their donation page with your family and friends and log all the reading you do at home. Donors can leave messages and notes to encourage your student's reading and raising!

So, what should I do TODAY?

  1. Log in to Beanstack through the app or at https://miltonglover.beanstack.com with your student using their Clever account. If Clever doesn’t sound familiar to you, it will be familiar to your Glover kid!

  2. When prompted, re-connect your new Glover Beanstack account with your existing Milton Public Library Beanstack account. If you have not previously used Beanstack at the MPL please follow the prompts to set one up. You’ll need it each year through sixth grade for Summer Reading. Existing MPL Beanstack accounts were unaffected by the change in school accounts, but this connection will need to be reestablished.

  3. Start logging your minutes! Even though the Read-a-thon Fundraiser Challenge doesn’t start until March 5, students can get into the habit of logging their reading minutes now.

What kind of reading counts?

YES - books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks (with ACTIVE listening), independent in-school reading (recess/lunch, choice time, waiting for the bus/car)

NO - TV/movie/video game captions, audiobooks (with PASSIVE listening for background noise or a sleep aid), words on packaging, or teacher-led lessons (teachers will log whole class minutes)

For additional help on accessing and using Beanstack, please visit gloverpto.com/beanstack for a variety of helpful How-To documents or contact Karen Belmonte, Glover’s Library Assistant and Beanstack Admin, at kbelmonte@miltonps.org. Happy reading!
