Friday 3/21: World Down Syndrome Day - ROCK YOUR SOCKS!

ROCK YOUR SOCKS!

A friendly reminder to rock your socks on Friday, March 21 to promote awareness and acceptance of Down syndrome.

Every year, on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. This day provides the opportunity to celebrate people with Down syndrome and all the wonderful contributions they make to society. The point of wearing the silly socks is as a conversation starter for people to ask questions and to remind them that while things may be different they are still wonderful.
