A Wild Encounter: First Graders Meet an Owl at Glover Elementary! 🦉
On Thursday, February 13th, the PTO funded $900 for Glover Elementary’s first graders to a truly special experience when educators from the Blue Hills Trailside Museum visited for an engaging, hands-on lesson about wildlife rehabilitation. The highlight of the visit? Meeting a real, live Eastern Screech owl up close!
The students were captivated as they learned about the important work of caring for injured and orphaned wildlife, the role of rehabilitation in protecting local ecosystems, and how animals adapt to their environments. Through interactive storytelling and Q&A sessions, the children discovered fascinating facts about owls, including their keen eyesight, silent flight, and incredible hunting skills.
